Viva-Tonal # 112 question

Post by oliver »

Hi All,

On the British and European market, what would be a fair price to pay for a portable Viva-Tonal #112 needing a mainspring and a carrying handle :?:
(otherwise in good condition)

Thanks a lot.

These two recent eBay sales are probably representative of current UK values :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Portable-Gra ... 7675.l2557

That was quite helpful. Why didn't I think of doing that? Duh!

Thank you for your time and research.

With the greatest of respect I don't think anyone can realistically use Ebay as a reliable price guide.

Taking the two examples Roger linked to as an example, the better condition one sold for twice the price of the other! The problem with Ebay is that it never stops. Its a constantly moving conveyor belt of unwanted stuff. People haven't always got the time or money to be constantly visiting it to buy stuff. If they had prices would be much higher.

An auction of specialist items taking place once or twice a year would yield different results.

You might have a long wait before a 112 appears in a specialist auction.

The carrying handle and the mainspring, I'm sure, will cost more than a complete and working machine
