Hello all, I helped clear a garage of a deceased person recently, and amongst all the many tools and bits and pieces, some books, and six "Punch" magazines, mostly from first world war, but one from 1926, and one from December 16th 1931. I was pleased to see, on the back cover, this advertisement for the 102 machine.
My apologies if most of you have seen this advertisement in the past, but I had not seen it.

A beautiful advert, thanks! The model in the advertising has the old style automatic brake, whose knee can be seen near the tonearm base ;)

That is an interesting find Alastair. I look forward to seeing it next time we meet.
There are several period advertisements for the 102 in Dave Cooper's book on HMV portables, but not this one.

Great find.

I notice that the tray can accommodate 14 x 10 inch records apparently - but looks half full in the 'picture' with 4 or 5 ?
