It very well could be New Spark, but I can't find any info or pictures about this brand.

I couldn’t find any name that fitted S then N in that order. Just ‘New Spark’ and also ‘New Star’ but that was registered in 1908 which I think is a bit late for this machine.
I think ‘New Spark’ sounds more like a bicycle but the listing does claim to be Phonograph marks. I find it curious that these French marks should be written in English, perhaps to imply an authentic American product such as a Columbia or Edison.

The S and N in the machined engraving are intermixed symmetrical into an oval ring, so no priority order can be supposed, it could be SN as well as NS..! See op, third photo...

If it's Swiss machine, it could be a name starting with "N" and ending with Swiss/Switzerland...

That's it! What we have is "SN," and it indicates this simple machine and others like it were issued to ships of the Swiss Navy to entertain the sailors!

That's the most logical explanation I've heard... BUT, was there really a Swiss Navy on the Bodensee or Lake Geneva???
