Playing a 45rpm on an HMV 102 using a shoelace suspended from the lid to reduce the weight of the soundbox!

Looks like a serviceable machine with bit of a well used case.
Without access to any 78s then a piece of elastic (probably not a shoelace) shows mechanical aptitude and I can see that it would ruin the record but he machine will survive.
I have a 102 in similar condition that is great for taking to outdoor events and not worrying about the odd extra scuff or sudden rain shower.
I wonder what will make?
The record is a 1984 version of Ghostbusters in good condition worth £2 on eBay

Thanks Steve that proved the £ problem was on my PC it had changed to US keys for some reason either it felt like it or I managed to press control 2 keys at the same time by accident.
so how many ££££ will it sell for ?

My guess is £150 but the market is very uneven and unpredictable so who really knows?

I remember George Overstall on his own made acoustic gramophone, which I have here, playing a long playing record or 33 r.p.m. with a tracking weight of about one gram. He managed it by careful manipulation of his home made weight adjuster, which is positioned at the rear of the tone arm. And he played the record with a bamboo needle!
