I am adding quite a few photos of a portable I could not resist this week. I really don't have room for it, but then I have to make some room for it somewhere.
The only small problem with this nice machine is that the spring is bumping because of hardened grease, but that will be taken care of during the upcoming holiday, apart from it, it looks very nice and solid. The swiss Thorens manufacture is reliable as we know, and the parts are in excellent condition. The red color adds to it, in particular since I don't really own any nice red portables yet, the ones I have, are scarred.
The Excelsior name can be found on a label attached to the inner lid, and it is not a transfer. It could be a machine ordered by a Swedish warehouse in the past (or not), that later on ended up in my area. I have never yet seen a similar machine in my area. The model number is interesting;)
I am adding many photos for reference, in case someone sooner or later need parts for a similar machine, or out of general interest want to have a closer look at the details on this machine.

Re: Excelsior Portable (Thorens/Swiss made)
My guess is that this machine was bought in from Thorens and that the paper label inside the lid was applied by the retailer.
All the Excelsior manufactured machines I have seen bore this transfer :

There are lots of Thorens-Paillard catalogues at graphonogram.com
These could be checked to see if Excelsior was one of the thorens models....
Anyway, it looks solid and well made... Looks like a102
