Re: The Line-up Photos of HMV 157 to HMV 202
Thanks, impressive! I have a 194, and seems to mea very big machine... but seeing it beside the 203 it seems a smurf. I understand when somebody told me that the size ratio between 203/194 was similar to that between 194 and 163... This said, I never imagined the 203 such big!

Ditto for the 163, which is a machine that's hard anough already to fit properly in an average house.
Do I understand correctly, that all models were eventually available with both type of front grilles (gothic arches / crossed pattern)?

Oak cabinets had the gothic arches. Mahogany cabinets had the crossed pattern.Marco Gilardetti wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 3:15 am Ditto for the 163, which is a machine that's hard anough already to fit properly in an average house.

The 157 and 163 were available in Oak or Mahogany. The larger models were :
193 (Oak) 194 (Mahogany) 202 (Oak) 203 (Mahogany).

The tonearms of 157 and 163 seem to be one size, the tonearm of 194 is larger, and I guess that the 202 has same large size... or am I wrong, and it is yet larger?

It is nice to see such good photos of the 163 in Mahogany. And those very interesting comparison photos. Very much appreciated !

Hello everyone,
Here are interesting comparisons between hmv 203's horn and Credenza's horn. I hope everyone enjoys this.

Wow. The horn in the 202 does appear *much* larger.Watanabehi wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 7:44 pm Yes, I used to own HMV 193, which I miss very much, but I very much enjoy listening to my HMV 202. The photos show the horn differences between HMV 202 and VV 8-9 or VV 8-35 horns, which I use for RCA theater Alnico horn drivers for stereo usage. I am planning to add field coil Jensen speakers. The photos don't have Jensen speakers, only the horn drivers. VV 8-9 and VV 8-35 horns are larger than HMV 163's horn and a little smaller than HMV 193's horn.

Do you have dimensions for the openings of the respective horns, that is, the length and width of the horns at the bell opening?
