Not a 102- 112 update

Post by Teak »

So the strange 112 arrived today. Turns out exactly as expected. A periode hotroded 112, with replaced record storage. The crank handle was replaced with a very nicely turned brass piece. The needle storage is extremely interesting and involved. The horn below the lid is there and the plaque covers nothing but teak. I am really torn. First i thought i will revert this back to some originality. But looking at the mods, they Look very periode and very well made.

I am so very pleased that you have provided an up-date.

If it were mine, I would leave it exactly as it is because:

I would imagine that the unique modifications were carried out in India. Also, this machine has a very, very interesting historical story to tell. Maybe we will never know. Or maybe, one day the story will come to light..... and you will have it !

Fantastic purchase !

I think i will settle for something in the middle. The plaque stays with the machine, as well as the horncover, but not attached. The overall condition is much better than anticipated. It is going to be fun cleaning it up over the weekend.

It was clearly a well used and well loved machine. The gadget with the needle box is incredibly overengineered, a labour of love!

It's a "sexed up" Steampunk version!

Looks good to me, I would leave it as it is. It will never get back to its original shape, anyway, with the extra holes and such, and it carries the personal effort of the previous owner to improve it.

So interesting. That brass crank knob, wow! The horn cover I guess is not doing any favors to the sound quality. I wonder what the reasoning for it was. Yeah, definitely a cherished piece.
