Edison Grill Phonograph
Not sure what to call this machine, I saw it once down at a collector's house in New Zealand. Been trying to find one since! Does anyone have any information about this phonograph or know how to acquire one? Thanks!

I would say, Amberola 30 mechanics in a home-made case. Nothing factory made by Edison. Amberola 30 cases are notorious for veneer loss, so probably someone built a new case for one.

According to Frow this was designed as potable by Mr Woledge in New Zealand in the 20s he offered it to the Edison company who considered the idea and eventually declined to make them themselves but supplied 36 mechanisms George Frow suggest that 29 were made up and at he time of writing in the 1980s 6 had been found.
I note the picture in the Frow book is all wood finish not this paint job on the inside also goes onto the lid catches so is certainly a later job.
