Fascinating Chunny and very many thanks for sharing. The Darrieulat cases are beautiful. Here is another one which is a slight mystery in that it has a Mk X horn but swans-neck tonearm. All of the other Mk Xs I have seen have goose-neck tonearms. I photographed this example in, I think, somewhere near Virginia Water, Surrey perhaps twenty years ago. I have since tried to trace it and the owner but he seems to have gone to live in Portugal and the trail has gone cold.

I personally think this model with the Xa horn is quite beautiful. I'll have to try that combination with mine.

Might be a silly question, but can you do anything about the droop in the Mk X horn?

One day I am going to own one of these... even if I have to make one
