What makes a "dark blue" 101? They all look the same to me. Anyway, the three portables in that picture: grey and blue 101s and a stunning quality Alba (double spring Garrard motor and fine Paillard soundbox) next to it, all managed to squeeze into my little car for the journey home!poodling around wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 4:00 pm Great photographs !
I think I saw a nice grey HMV 101 and maybe a dark blue one too !
No minidisc players though ....

Nice and the prices seem very reasonable too.
To save me looking this up on google etc - where is this held ? Once a year I guess ?
Oh, it's okay I found it:

It's not "dark" blue, is it?

Well I have read on some threads on here that the rare dark blue one didn't sell very well because it looked black.
I have a dark blue crocodile HMV 101 and that does look black.
So, maybe yours is not 'the' rare dark blue normal one ?

BTW, did anyone see the stall on the front row that had 2 gramophones for sale, an inside horn one for £10 and what appeared to be the base of a small outside horn one for £45?
I meant to go back and ask why the outside horn base was so cheap, but by the time I remembered, both had gone
