Absolutely ! There is life beyond talking machines I hasten to add ! although that may be a difficult goal for some on this forum !!
A very good point indeed !!! Fortunately I am also obsessed with minidisc equipment and cassette tape so things are pretty 'well rounded' ! I must admit, I dread to think how things might be otherwise.

I have nothing but good news !

I have decided to forget the garden shed and hole in the ground ideas.

Instead, this summer project is to repair the garage flat roof and use that .... the garage that is, not the roof. It will not be as ideal as epigramophone's / steve's solutions but I think it is a good idea.

Thank you so very much everyone for your comments and advice.

I'm getting a Garrard motor driven carousel for my garden next. A big one, not that pokey little thing on Ebay! I want to be able to suspend all my machines from cables on it so they don't have to touch the floor and when I feel like a change of machine indoors I just lift off the ones I want. It could literally become a revolving display. I don't want to have to look at the same machine twice in a week!
