Rumour has it the dog has passed away too!
Sadly few, if any, of those machines were aet up correctly to play properly. Most sounded awful and were playing inappropriate material at the wrong speed. It's not exactly a great promotion for our hobby. I can't help wondering how many people see that and incorrectly assume that all gramophones sound that bad.

A lot of people think 78's sound bad, because they've only heard worn out records on a cheap machine. As we know, well-recorded 78's in very good condition can sound stunning.
