Both my red leather 101 and 102 have the impressed rectangle design on the outside of the lid.

Both my red leather 101 and 102 have the impressed rectangle design on the outside of the lid.

Both my red leather 101s do too BUT my red leather 102 does not.

Steve and Leels ! Thank you very much for your responses. It is important learning about variability in the existence and placing of rectangular pressings on the 102 case lids. The variability might or might not have been deliberate and caused either by circumstances like production rush, customer’s preference, temporary unavailability of pressing facility or periodic changes in design.
