This isn't for a Victor VI, as the arm and sound box are nickel plated.

Just to add to what George has stated. The back bracket on a Vic. VI is with "gold" stencilling only. No blue.

Ok..so please explain whats going on with these Vic VI's...looks like blue stenciling to me.
These are both early versions.

Using a machine that has been "heavily restored"....is not a good benchmark for originality.I have owned several Vic. "6's" (meaning early) and all have gold "only" on the back bracket.

Perhaps another member can show another "untouched" Vic. 6 that has the blue stencilling on the bracket. Anyone....????. BTW, just click on my pic to see the brackets closer.

Beautiful machines..thanks for showing them.
So what you're saying is that any Vic 6 that shows blue stenciling on the back bracket has be restored..correct?

No Dave that is not what I'm saying. What I wrote was (in other words) not to use a "restored" machine as your guide to "correctness". It is better to go by machine's that have not been touched in any way. This will provide a better benchmark for future reference.

In my opinion and all the years I have been involved in this hobby......the only time I have seen this size bracket with blue stencilling was on other Victor rear mount models other than a Victor 6 or VI. You may want to look though the web and you will see Vic 6's with correct brackets.
Do you not own a Victor 6..???. If so, check yours.

Could this be a Victor IV bracket?

Yes, it could be for a IV. The same size bracket is used on a M, MS, III, and IV. Also, the D, V, and VI share the same bracket. If you use the incorrect bracket on any of these machines, the needle will fall short or past the spindle. When you are looking at any Victor, always check to see that the needle touches or is close to the spindle. Jerry
