With a pre-sale estimate of £50/£70 one could live with that horn, but I would expect it to make more like £1500/£2000 if the right people bid.

We shall see......

Has anyone else spotted that this is a "bitza" - in this case, an unfortunate alliance of an Expert Minor base with an EMG Mk IX horn (which also happens to be horribly painted). The sound produced will be an unknown quantity - the two designs follow different exponential curves, and there will be a sudden jump in internal diameters (Graham thinks in this case it could be small, but his experiments - of which I have witnessed repeat performances - clearly demonstrate the deleterious effects on sound quality).

If it bids to "normal" Mk IX prices, the buyer will end up disappointed if they haven't already realised the above! One would have to factor in the cost and difficulty of finding a Minor horn and (maybe less difficult) a Mk IX base.
