I happened to notice this eBay listing and thought I would mention it, inasmuch as the second volume of The Columbia Phonograph Companion is pretty hard to come by and new copies--if you can find one--are in the $200 range.

It's my understanding that this is now available in electronic form for download to the I-pod..but will not be reissued in book form.
Thats too bad for the majority who still read the old-fashioned way...
I guess if you want a copy you'll have to swallow hard and pony up.

Even though I am very computer literate and have lots of gizmos, I still prefer to reach on the shelf for hard copies when it comes to reference works like this myself.
