I am amazed at what folks try to sell. Apparently the seller has no idea (giving them the benefit of doubt) that this Chippendale has been cut down to a tabletop style.

I admit...I bought one cut in half..and didn't know it was until I picked it up because it looked one piece in the pictures. But I traveled 400 miles to pick it up and just figured,
"welp...kind of neat..I can use it as a table top"...lol

Not long ago, I posted a listing for a Chippendale that was cut apart, but in the "opposite" manner; meaning the bottom was separated below the horn compartment, but had the top cabinet "frieze" periphery and lid reattached to it.
I thought it was kind of cute.

Hi folks,
After taking a little better look at this listing (I know; FINALLY! ) I think I should point out that there are a couple of critical things really wrong with this; things that will DEFINITELY prevent it from being a "plug and play" starter for the unwary:
1) The stylus bar has what looks to be a very nasty STEEL NEEDLE in it.
2) The "floor" of the horn compartment is missing, and too; the horn support shaft pivot bushing. I can't imagine this mechanism would be capable of feeding, and there probably is NO way to even adjust the critical reproducer height.
However, if it can be purchased cheaply enough, the rest of the mechanism - though rough - looks to be complete.
Who knows if it actually works, though...
