The drilled and tapped holes in the horn mount display an unusually skilful grasp of adaptive mechanics...wonder if that is the original horn that's been adapted as well.

Flow some low temp brazing rod in there, grind, polish and re-plate and you'll have most of a great little phonograph. To my mind, I wouldn't pay more than possibly 5-550 as it stands.

This was offered (and sold) at an auction on June 4 in Sandwich, MA. I knew about it well ahead of time, realized it was an interesting cobble-job but that it was also mostly good original Zonophone and Victor parts. I was initially interested until I realized it would require a lot more windshield time than I was comfortable with to get to the auction and so I said to heck with it. It brought $400 (see below) and obviously the seller is trying to flip it for a tidy profit. Below is the auction link for it:

$400 was a fair price for it and I would have paid more for it myself if I was at the auction. You have to admire the prior owner's attempt at trying to use this machine with limited access to the correct parts.
