Price is even hotter, it actually burns!

Empirical accounts tell that this type of machine is indeed rare, as most burned down! I presume that it would fit as a conversation piece in any collection, but would be seldomly utilized due to the obvious risks.

There was also an English machine that utilized the flame front as amplifier to the sound. This is even rarer than the Paillards, there are advertisements of that machine but I have never seen one in real life.

Ah yes, the even more dangerous Flamephone which connected to the mains gas supply and played through a burning jet. I have never seen one either.

I have an overwhelming urge to ask if it runs on leaded or unleaded but I'll just bite my lip.... ;) ;) Cheers Bill K

That's insane! I've never heard of that one. Do you know how effective it was?

If you search Flameophone, there is a thread on this model. As mentioned by epigramophone "I have never seen one either".
I am not aware of one myself.

A Paillard #205 however rarely turns up in complete working condition and is wonderful to watch running and playing. I use mine all the time.
Just don't leave it unattended.. ;).

Guido,

I know over the years you have had (and sold) several of these and I have always been tempted. You always come up with great stuff!
