This popped up on ebay, I imagine it would have been a period adaptation, the whole machine has a different base that seems to clip into and out of the cabinet, whatever it is, it's very interesting!

Looks like it was modified to fit in an old needlework cabinet . I’ve seen just the cabinet before.
