I am curious about this mainly because it is the second 'of it's kind / style' that I have seen over the past 6 months or so.

If I were to give an opinion I would say that it has a genuine Columbia horn and has had a portable motor installed. Maybe the base is from an internal horn Columbia ? The tone arm and fittings look genuine for an external horn gramophone. So it is a 'Frankenphone'.

I may be (very) wrong though ?

Please let me know whether you think it is a genuine Columbia, a 'Frankenphone' or a 'Crapophone' and why.

With just the one picture, It's hard to say. The case arm, and horn look like they are from a late Columbia. I question the turntable, crank,and motor. The motor , crank, speed control, and brake look like they are from a portable. I'm not sure of the arm fitting for the reproducer. That's hidden. Unfortunately, the site only shows one picture. This could be a legitimate UK machine, but hard to say. With just one picture, I would be hesitant to go after this machine.

a lot of original Columbia parts but need a pic of all 4 sides plus the motor,,, possibly a internal horn coversion???

did you notice that the reproducer appears to be snapped off at the tonearm connection point..

From the 1913/14 catalogue image below, I think this is a UK Columbia No.1. The case, turntable, tonearm and back bracket look genuine, but the horn is of the continental "Peacock Feather" pattern. I cannot see the soundbox well enough to judge, but the winding handle appears to be that of a later Garrard motor.
