This is in Bowling Green Kentucky... I am not sure how it sounds or what brand it is, but that cabinet sure is ornate!
What off brand phonograph is this?

I've never seen anything similar. You can build an interesting collection on oddball uprights. I looked at the Craigslist link to see it there was a photo with the doors open. I wonder if it's all horn. It would seem odd to open the doors to see record storage and the horn.

It has a kind of Sears/Montgomery Ward vibe to it, but their turntable felt was usually purple.

I saw this machine too, it's quite an enigma. The cabinet style definitively has an ortho knock off vibe of 1926-1929, but it has the older late teens/early 20s Kirkman auto-stop, the turntable is also a early 20s Heineman design used pretty regularly by Emerson. The doors being used to block the horn has to put it after 1922 when the victor patent expired.
I'd have to see the doors open to get a better idea, but I feel this machine might be older than it looks. The tonearm possible not being original, it having a pot metal one first later being broken and replaced with the ortho style one, but I'm not sure.

Curiosity got the best of me so I asked for pictures. Now I'm wondering what's in the box on the bottom shelf.

I wonder how that horn sounds. It looks like an attempt at a folded horn almost like in some Orthophonics at least from here.

Agreed. Plus, I really like the machine, just not $500 worth -- even if it were close to me.VanEpsFan1914 wrote:I wonder how that horn sounds. It looks like an attempt at a folded horn almost like in some Orthophonics at least from here.

Yep well I was mistaken, it's definitely an Ortho knockoff.

The bell shaped cutout in the grill might be a logo that would lead to its identity...
