It's a VV-XI, you can have your pick of much better machines for $75-$100. Salvage the parts and put it out of it's misery.

Good project machine for somebody who wants to refinish and restore it. Don't sell the XI short; it's a capable player, especially for small-to-medium-size ensembles, acoustic and electric recordings. Also, it's the late model with "fat" tone arm and no.2 sound box. Needless to say, a sound box rebuild is essential. Ask the man who owns one!
