It may have a Victrola 2 sound box but the crank and speed control do not appear to be Victor. I suspect the machine did not start entertaining its first owner with that sound box. With that said or speculated, I'd place this machine at or near the pinnacle of off brand machines. It is nothing less than fabulous.

Yes, it's a small motor but do you think it's a replacement? A Kalamazoo Duplex has a dinky motor in a big case. Is that a reason not to want a Kalamazoo in any collection?What's fabulous about this ?

The small motor does not make sense for such an elaborate phonograph. Look how they were shimming the motor block Tom

Given the fitment of electric lighting, I would have expected to see an electric motor on such an expensive machine.
