The paper thin leather outer case covering is in bad shape, but this model does not come up for sale very often.
At the "Buy It Now" price of £250 it could be a worthwhile project.

No, I've already got a pristine leather gold plated red 102 (with original receipt, key, record tray etc). I got it from Don Watson about 15 years ago.
I'm pretty sure it sold for £185 because the seller sent out a discounted offer to everyone watching it and it sold more or less straight after so it'd be a strange coincidence if the buyer happened to make an offer on £250 just prior to the discount being offered.
I'm still unsure how this works because it appears to be Ebay making the offers, not the sellers who presumably don't know who the watchers are?

I've listed a few items recently, and I noticed there's a facility sellers can select that allows eBay to send out those automatic discount offers.Steve wrote: ↑Sun May 30, 2021 3:30 pmNo, I've already got a pristine leather gold plated red 102 (with original receipt, key, record tray etc). I'm amazed you managed to buy one from Don , Whenever I asked him a price for a gramophone when he stalled out , he told me the price and I said yes I'll have it he would then decline to sell it to me !Steve wrote: ↑Sun May 30, 2021 3:30 pmNo, I've already got a pristine leather gold plated red 102 (with original receipt, key, record tray etc). Yes, this is a lovely machine in unfortunate condition. I bought one few months ago with some pieces missing. I managed to buy a gilded record tray but I am still looking for a gilded 5A or 16 sound box and for gilded tone arm retaining clip. Indeed the one listed on Ebay would have been perfect for spare parts if not for the price.epigramophone wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 4:14 am The paper thin leather outer case covering is in bad shape, but this model does not come up for sale very often.

Not expensive when you consider it could go on a 203 and the last Nickel 5A I auctioned on Ebay made £145 !epigramophone wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 4:39 am Here is a gold 5A for sale on UK eBay, but it is expensive :
