G&T New Style No.3 on UK eBay.

Post by epigramophone »

It needs an elbow and a horn but is said to be "in good working order" although I don't see a winding handle.
The soundbox appears to be the correct "Concert" but has been fitted the wrong way round.

Apparently the whole traveling arm has been inserted upside down...
You can see the horn cradle dangling underneath. :?

^^^^ This.

These are nice little machines, capable of playing the "new" 10" records. There's a bigger spring (hence the widened/ flattened half barrel) fitted and the brake lever is moved down by the speed control next to the spring for this purpose. Also the tone- arm rest was dropped.

From a starting price of £30 it now stands at £720 with several days to go.

Yes, they are great. I already have a complete pristine example in my collection. They are the logical progression of the "trademark model", made just a few years later.

Finished at £1325 which is not unreasonable considering it lacked the horn, elbow and winding handle and wasn't exactly "sparkly".
