Edison Lab 250 on Ebay World Record Price

Post by erunltd »

What a deal . . . includes free shipping. It should also include 5 free
therapy sessions with a shrink to determine why you would pay so
much for this common and . . . overpriced . . . phonograph.

Don't delay, it won't last long. The grill can double as a chair seat.

Somebody must thing it's pretty special !
I came a cross a Victor Monarch on Etsy, and the guy in the UK was asking 24,000.00 US.
The woman was selling it for her husband.
It was in very good original condition.

Well it is the ‘Official Laboratory Model’. It even says so on the medallion. I’m sure the seller assumes that must mean that it came directly from Edison’s personal Laboratory- Edison himself probably listened to this very machine when it was in his laboratory- that must make it really valuable. Why not throw a price out of $24,010.00 and see if it sticks. People probably wouldn’t pay $25,000, but maybe they would pay $24,010. Plus you could make an offer, maybe he would even take $23,000 for it.

LOL I can think of three eBay listings I've seen where the sellers truly believed their "Official Laboratory Model" was Edison's personal machine he tinkered around with in the "lab". Amazing in the interenet era how few folks still can't or won't do even basic research.

I sent the seller a few messages telling her/him what the price should be, even sent a link to this thread.
I was thanked...

Oh well, good for a laugh.
