HMV Maxitone Portable on ebay

Well fancy that, an HMV Maxitone portable. I don’t think it’s fooling anyone but in fairness the starting price is reasonable. Maybe someone needs a black 102 lid plaque?

Reminds me of the "Meltrope Portable" I bought on eBay some years ago. It was in fact a blue HMV102 from which the lid panel had been removed, and which was fitted with a Meltrope II soundbox.

I think the HMV plaque is worth more than the gramophone!
