The EMGs keep surfacing this year! I'm definitely not one to complain however
Here's the latest on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EMG-Gramopho ... 635-2958-0
That horn has definitely seen better days! Alongside the twisting, I wonder if it had part of the bell cut off?
Not entirely sure what's going on with the case either!?

In fact, I wonder if the horn was in pieces and out back together badly? Looks like a bit of standard plumbing on the bottom of it!

We have discussed this machine before, and the horn now looks even worse!

Oh gosh, that's even more sad now! It clearly suffered a really poor attempt at restoring the horn and a horrible stab at refinishing the case!epigramophone wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 1:44 pm We have discussed this machine before, and the horn now looks even worse!

My goodness, how tragic, it was recoverable before, but now utterly wrecked...

Re: Twisty horn EMG Mk IX
Yeah! Quite surprised! In that condition I'd have thought it would be quite a struggle to get someone to buy it... I guess even a tired EMG is still an EMG
Real shame seeing the before and after photos, it definitely was salvageable before

Re: Twisty horn EMG Mk IX
Sold for a single bid of £1400. Perhaps the buyer thought the soundbox, tonearm and motor worth that amount.
Unless Gertrude Bell was an EMG owner the book and film poster included in the sale are irrelevant. Yes she knew T.E.Lawrence who was an EMG/Expert owner, but the connection is tenuous to say the least.

A dissatisfied buyer perhaps, yet the starting price has been increased by over 50%.
I doubt that the seller will be trampled in the rush to purchase.
