I agree with Dulcetto, the sound quality of the 1A, although good, does not match that of an Opera. Both share almost identical works, but the Opera horn is acoustically superior to the 1A internal horn. The advantage of the 1A is that it has the gear shift that allows it to play 2- and 4-minute cylinders, while the Opera plays only the 4-minute. And the reversible soundbox shown in this example, that can also be fitted on the Opera, allows also to play the 4-minute wax amberols, that cannot be played with the more common single stylus soundbox.
