I think $495 is still too high for a common Mahogany VV-XVII.

There was a time that these often commanded over a grand, but sadly those days are long gone. They are nice machines, and the curved sides make it very attractive.
Best regards ... AZ*

It is available for $400 now. A VV-XVII is a great acoustic machine. Great carvings, serpentine cabinet and top level components. I think that it is a great deal.

If I collected acoustic machines, I definitely would have gotten this by now.

Whenever an online seller starts to lower a price, that tells me that are ready to "deal." I saw an off brand fall to $25 a week or so ago before finally "selling."
If anybody in the area was truly interested, that should make contact and start the "discussions" as it is a nice piece!!!

You've been asking advice lately about Edison Diamond Disc reproducers, Edison cylinder reproducers, the restoration of your Edison Standard B, an Amerola DX, among other items. So, if you don't collect acoustic machines, then what's all that about?gunnarthefeisty wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 12:27 am If I collected acoustic machines, I definitely would have gotten this by now.
