Edison C-19 in Kennett Square, PA -- $1 opening, no bids

Post by drh »

Edison C-19 diamond disc machine, eBay listing, claims it's an estate piece that has always been in the same family. $1 opening bid, no reserve (it says), and no bids so far. Comes with 17 diamond discs. In addition to its standard Edison reproducer, the photos show a Sonora needle type; dunno if it's set up with the appropriate plumbing to serve as an adapter. The machine looks to have some ragged veneer at the bottom, but on the whole appears better than the C-250 that started me on my voyage into diamond discs when I was in high school, 'way back when. If you know anyone looking to get into the hobby, this looks like a good way to start, at least to my eye, as long as it doesn't draw too much interest, driving the price out of line. 4 days to go at this point.

It has some very nasty veneer problems going on if one looks closely on the right side in the first photo.

It drew 15 bids and sold for the princely sum of $19.50. Ragged veneer or no, somebody out there got a very good deal, I think.

wow, 15 bids only made 19.50. Probably didn't even pay for Ebays fee's.
