I have some rare disc and cylinder records that I would rather trade for 5-inch Edison Concert of Columbia Grand cylinders than just sell outright. They include:
*A 12-inch Edison Diamond Disc "Sample Record" (No. 13). This plays very well, with no chips or surface lifting. If you're unfamiliar with these, they were samplers of Edison record sides sent to dealers to give them a taste of forthcoming new titles. Each side has a number of 30-second selections from different songs, each one introduced by a bored-sounding employee at the Edison labs. A real trip!
*A 6-inch Columbia "Twenties Century" cylinder in original case -- number 85010, "Coax Me -- Medley and Two-Step" by Prince's Military Band, from 1905
*Three Edison two-minute Grand Opera cylinders in original cases
See photos. If you have any interest and some 5-inch cylinders to trade, please PM me. For that matter, if you have 5-inch cylinders to trade and you're looking for something else, let me know.
Thanks!
