WANTED: Jimmie Rogers 78s

Post by Johnny Town Mouse »

I'm looking for 78s from the 1920s/30s featuring Jimmie Rogers. They don't have to be in mint/excellent condition. I have one disc in my collection lol, and I really enjoy him so hoping to find some others.

Hi,

I realize this won't be the original 78's but if you like Jimmy Rodgers , you ought to know about a 5 CD set of his music. JSP Records- JSP 7704. If I recall correctly, the transfers are really well done and not noise reduced to death. I loathe over processed transfers !! But must admit that I've only listened to a few of the selections on this set- part of a project.

And by the way, there is one short film of him "The Singing Brakeman". It's on Youtube. Made by Columbia Studio. Not the record company. It's GREAT! Even though it is colorised.

Cordially,

Bob H.

See if you can locate a copy of this record... I always hoped to discover one.
