I just finished restoring this 1911 VV-IX Victrola and its a real beauty. I tried something new with the Mohawk Ultra Penetrating dye i spray on. I have been using Mohawk medium mahogany color for the mahogany machines but its to brown for a color match to Victrola mahogany. This time i mixed meduim mahogany with light red mahogany and the color is much closer to the original Victrola finish color i think.

Fantastic. Each time I see one of these labours of love and skills... I remember my tatty hmv127 I'm using it, but it has all sorts of things... Loose veneers with creases caused by wet storage, some missing chips, deformed out of shape... Bufff...

Very well done. Love the color. What did you use over the dye to achieve the gloss finish?

It looks like it just rolled out of the Victor factory. Very nice work.
