A 1916 Victrola XVII. Of all the Victrolas, the 17 and 18 are the most challenging and perhaps thats why i like doing them. This one I started in Feb 2022 and just finished May 2022. A full restoration top to bottom with the color matched the original finish color almost exact. This one turned out very nice.
My hopes are that the next owners treat it better than it was treated in its first 106 year life and that in the next hundred or two hundred years it ages gracefully and regains its aged beauty. This 1916 XVII is for sale, pm me if you are interested. Price is $2,500 plus $500 shipping and handling.
A 1916 Victrola VVII finally finished and restored.

Wow! That looks incredible. I am sure the new owner will be proud to own a machine like that.

I really appreciate the fine work that you do restoring to such a high standard. I'm sure that your fine work will last for generations so it's a bit of immortality. You need to add a plaque inside your machines.

No replating, the hardware was in good shape, cleaned with 0000 steel wool and Dawn soap (carefully) and exterior parts coated with Mohawk brass lacquer to keep them bright. The casters are not original, i always replace those.

So the casters are new with Mohawk brass lacquer on them ?
Is that a coloured lacquer to make it look like gold/brass or a clear meant for brass ?
I have never seen original gold plated casters in good shape, same with the edge of the turntable.
