Pedestal advice for Victor II

I second James’ opinion and I would also remove those feet on the corners of the phonograph.

Picked it up from a dealer outside of Queens NY. Quite the drive from Massachusetts but we made a day of it.
Retired font I believe from about the turn of the 20th century, time for its next life!!

I had thought it was a huge newel post. A font makes sense.

I do agree with fmblizz and dzavracky that if the case triangles that hold the rubber feet weren’t there, the whole thing would look seamless, BUT isn’t that an original part of the cabinet?
Wouldn’t that detract from any value the machine would have? Resale value for any purist?
Also, how would the anchoring take place if they were removed?
Wooden dowels? Now I’d have to drill peg holes in the case…

I would still use the rubber feet but have them recessed into the pedestal to provide the safety issue. It looks like out of 10 different models of Victor II's only one of them, (Vic II, type M) had those corner pieces according to the data book. Also appears that this was the last Vic II series with corner columns. Would be easy enough to remove and save. Inigo and James suggestions are right on the money. Great looking setup.

Those corner pieces make the Hump-back II look "distinguished" IMHO.

I didn’t realize those corners were original to the humpback. Learn something new every day

If you don’t care about altering the pedestal, I’d make cut outs for those corners to sit in. Then it would sit flush.
