I used to own one, I regret having sold it. :( I wrote a very detailed article about these for The Sound Box a few years ago. There was a lot more to it than just putting a stylus on the back of a violin. The stylus bar was very complex. It had the curious ability to play either lateral or vertical records without any change to the stylus assembly other than to change the stylus itself from steel to sapphire.

It actually sounded fantastic. I wish I'd made a video... But it somehow seemed odd to hear a singer coming out of that oversized violin. When I played violin solos it was magical.

Here's a view of the stylus arrangement. It was supported from the inside of the violin body with an adjusting screw and a hard ebony block.
