Thanks for this well-written article, albeit recent. While it will eventually become dated, I do like the abundant references made to modern day. The style and research of this article sharply contrasts with the almost hokey, "gee whiz, isn't that neat?" tone of many of the earlier newspaper articles, which also focus more on the "strange and unique" aspect of collecting rather than putting it in a historic preservation context.

I just realized something. All the articles I posted from April 2020 to February 2021 are now gone. :( ☹️

Should I repost everything from the first year of this thread or just continue on?

If you look at TMF Tech Support, you will see that MordEth thinks that the files have not been lost.
He intends to fix the software problem and it's best if you wait for the fix rather that uploading files again.
