Bing Pygmyphone question

I found this Bing Pygmyphone in a local antique store. Not certain if the turntable is correct (much smaller than others I have seen) and the spindle is smaller that a standard Victor record. Is this correct? Were there variations in this machine?

I cannot tell you if there were variantions, but mine has a different larger turntable. Does the cutout line up with the windup key? Maybe it is home made?
