I sneak my stuff in when he/she's out. I only mention the purchase if it's so big and obvious he/she can't miss it and I factor the price down significantly or refuse to say.

Okay all let's see how honest we all really are. Of course whether this poll works or not depends on whether you answer the poll question honestly so maybe the whole concept is flawed. :?

Alot of us express frustration, anger, outrage about sellers who "forget" to mention certain details about the stuff they are offering for sale. Are we all above that???

If we all promise to answer the below poll question honestly, we should get a pretty good indication at least for those of us who have a partner, spouse etcetera. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PARTNER NOW please don't answer on the assumption that you know how you would behave. You can't know what it's like!

I'm probably a rarity in this field (or at least that's how it appears when I see how the average dealer / collector behaves over here! :o ) sadly and can honestly hold my head up and say that I've answered the question honestly, in exactly the same way as I deal with sellers all the time and buyers, on the rare occasion I ever sell anything! As I'm the ONLY respondent to date, there can be no hiding my answer either!

What she don't know, won't hurt her!

I DID vote - there is only ONE vote counted so far as I see it now and it's the very top (or first) answer!

Are you not seeing it?

Incidentally, back on subject, I think it's very much a "two-way street" in our relationship! I KNOW she sneaks in "girlie stuff" she buys all the time and removes prices before I can even pretend to not have seen it! LOL!. I never let on though as it would spoil her fun and make me feel bad!

As I lack a spouse to which to justify purchases, I’m exempt from this poll. However, other people in my situation might wish to check out Valecnik’s other poll, which caters to us.

I’d like to think that I’d be honest and not try to hide things, but...who knows.

Funny I did not see your vote earlier Steve but once I voted your's also became visible.

I KNOW my wife sneaks in the girlie stuff too, alot of it. That's why we are always broke! Whether she's sporting a new handbag or coat or I'm rolling in a new machine, the response is, "I've had this for years!"

That's why the rules don't permit you unattached guys to vote yet. Probably should have a separate poll for those who are unattached and compare the reality of us "spoused" members with the idealism the "unattached".

OK, well when I was "partnered" I was always totally honest about everything, but that's probably because he was with me usually when I picked up my purchases or at the auction where I bought it, so I guess I never had much of a choice. I don't miss getting the third degree about the money I've spent on "stuff", that's for sure!

Ha, I see I am in the majority! ie I sneak things in and only mention it when I have to. As for price - ummm well that depends on how much it is! Even so I am prepared for the slow rolling of eyes that usually accompanies phono purchases - but then I think we have all experienced those!

My wife never accompanies me on phono hunting expaditions, so in any case its usually a done deal before she even knows anything about it.
