Good news coming in from the gang from the Carolina Antique Phonograph Society. At least five members will be attending the Orlando Show next week on a recruiting and marketing mission and some just might pick up a few machines or records while in Orlando. I've been lucky to hang out with these guys while in Orlando for the past few years. I am the 'token Yankee' and member and as such am invited to partake and contribute to the purchase of adequate quantities of pitchers of beer along with dinner on Friday night.
All seriousness aside, the Carolina Antique Music Show to be held on March 14th should be a great time: http://www.carolinatalkingmachines.com/
If you have any interest in auto racing, NASCAR, auto museums/history then you should know that Mooresville also called Race City USA is a great place to visit. Check out: http://www.racecityusa.org/
Hope to meet some from this board in Orlando Friday/Sat Feb 23 and 24: Good time for phono-snowbirds to fly south.

The Mechanical Music Extravanganza in Wayne NJ is coming up April 19, 2009 http://www.antique-sound.com/MME/show.html
With the economy slowing and expected continued job losses the demand for phonographs is softening, while the supply seems to be increasing, thus lower prices. The attendence at these shows could be lighter than normal, so there could be some great bargains too. Also important, dealers who support this hobby could be motivated sellers at this time of year.
