Re: Paul Ladd's Passing
I am very saddened to hear of Mr. Ladd's passing. I spoke to him the first time back in 1992, when I needed needles and a governor for my Heineman phonograph motor. He was very nice and very informative on phonographs. He actually ended up selling me two packets of needles, and they were very good needles. These needles were grey in color and not plated or polished.
Again, I am sorry to hear of his passing, and wish his family and friends much peace and comfort during this time.
My condolences,
Jerry P.

Re: Paul Ladd's Passing
I didn't know Paul Ladd beyond a smile and a wave, but he inspired respect and affection from many collectors. Over the years I heard nothing but good things about him. He will be missed.
Condolences to Paul's family.

Re: Paul Ladd's Passing
I'm so sorry to here of Paul's passing, he was a friend for what seems forever.
Always a friendly face at Phonovention, Stanton's and Union.
He presented many how to seminars at the Phonoventions, and as a younger collector at the time I was eager to learn.
He will be missed but I will not forget him.
My deepest sympathy to Judy and the family.

Re: Paul Ladd's Passing
Paul was a good friend and an active member in MAPS and in organizing the Hoosier Antique Phonograph Society of Indiana. He supported the Antique Phonograph Society and wanted everyone to become a member and support the hobby. His stories and jokes were always welcome and brought laughter to anyone he met. He would always begin his presentations with a home-spun Hoosier story that ended in a punch line leaving everyone chuckling and groaning.
He touched all members that enjoyed the hobby and wrote columns titled “Vaccinated by the Phonograph Needle.” It appears each and every member of the forum has been vaccinated by that same needle.
We will always remember the good times we had with Paul and Judy at past Phonoventions. Our sympathy to Judy and the family.

Re: Paul Ladd's Passing
Those able to attend the viewing each received a record from his collection, with this memorial label attached to one side. Paul's passions were Phonographs and Auto Racing. This was a nice touch by the family.
