Favorite Characteristics: interesting design, underpowered motor. Attempt by a Music Box company to jump to recorded music. Symphonion actually did make a fantastic range of disc machines with the distinctive 'top of case' horn support.

Very interesting machine, Sidewinder! Being equally interested in early disc music boxes as well as early phonographs this example would have been an attractive item to me as well. And I would agree with 1926CredenzaOwner that it appears that the Stewart phonograph looks like a cousin to this example minus the horn. As with other comments I would like to jump on the bandwagon and ask for more pics of this unusual machine. It's neat to realize that the Regina Company and Mermod Frères Company had a little competition in the crossover years (when phonographs were taking over the mechanical music market) during the twilight of the disc music box. Thanks for sharing this!

Found a pic of the motor from when I was restoring the machine. Someone had painted part of the base red!



The wooden block is what the horn support screws onto through the metal casing.
