Thanks Dave, I saw that on one of the Facebook groups. Ugh! I saved the info nonetheless.drh wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 1:59 am This C-19, serial no. 108250, is up for "buy it now" sale on eBay, asking price $799. Someone has done some very strange "restoration" work on the cabinet. The listing is here:

I think it goes beyond mere restoration work. If you look at the top portions of the two cabinets, there are considerable differences (as I noted in an ignored previous post on the other thread) -- In order to accomplish this, the "restorer" would have had to have replaced the entire top portion of the cabinet. I'm thinking this may have been a special order, or custom cabinet.fran604g wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 6:32 amThanks Dave, I saw that on one of the Facebook groups. Ugh! Thanks for explaining that. I didn't know that the corner posts, etc., had a tendency to detach.fran604g wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 1:27 pm I had a C19 which the frieze had just fallen off in many spots. I'm sure that, coupled with the corner pieces that also tend to come loose and go missing accounts for the surface being plain.
Close inspection of the door exhibits missing finish around where the "embellishments" were attached.
Best,
Fran
