hello all,

Could you look at the pictures and help identify this outside horn machine? To me the back bracket looks like a Pathé. Would this be a European machine?

Thank you,

I'd say it's a new machine using old parts. I think the tone arm is not original (soundbox is too new) and the cabinet may be newly built. The back bracket is old (not a crap-o-phone recast) and the horn might be old under that new paint. Without seeing the motor it's hard to tell- but. If the needle tracks properly this might play well. I can see why someone might build something like this- I have a similar swiss-built machine and the cabinet is made out of very thin splintery oak.

The oak on the cabinet has a distinctly modern look to it.

Look like one of those fakes from India but painted differently then typically found.

Cabinet looks new, tone arm is not from a horn model, soundbox is an original later Paillard soundbox. a pic of the motor would be good. Bet its from a portable.
