OCR for Record Labels

Post by Sidewinder »

As part of my work avoidance program..........

Has anyone had any success with automatically reading a record label into a computer. After a while typing becomes a bit boring. Though the upside is that you have some time to inspect the record

thx for any tips. My last attempt a year or so back was with a pen scanner, but it did not like curved gold lettering on red backgrounds...etc

Hrm. I haven’t tried this, but as you mentioned, the curved writing will probably be problematic. I’ll have to run a few of my scans through some OCR software and report back with the results.

Perhaps afterward I may have software recommendations for you or anyone else who might be interested.
