Just brought home my very first VIC III. It is very nice, a little bit of cleaning, tune up, reproducer rebuild, and it will be like new. Very happy!
It has an anomaly, the ID plate is stamped VIC III twice, once normal and the other is too low and off to the right. I suppose this isn't too unusual but it is the first I have seen.

Congratulations, Cliff. A Victor III is on my "want" list. Would you share how much you spent? I like tracking prices comprehensively.

That's a good looking machine. I love this little factory mistake with the double stamped ID tag. It makes it more interesting. Good find!

Rebuilt the motor, cleaned up the cabinet a little bit, cleaned and installed a new leather pad in the bullet brake, tomorrow I'll rebuild the reproducer, put a green felt on the turntable, and see how it sounds. Getting pretty excited!

Here is a picture of the patent tag, date only shows 1, 1902. The month is missing.

Very Nice... Where did you find it? Antique Store, Classifieds?? If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you pay? Typically these can’t be had for less than 1500.00.
