Hi All,
Well we have all seen the pictures of the red Victor Credenza-know where there is a custom done white one?

This is the only one I can think of, off hand:
[youtubehq]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VptJmxbKrKI[/youtubehq]
Wonder how they got it to play so loudly with the doors shut...

Re: White Credenza
I think the same white Credenza was used for the scene in Ginger Rogers' hotel room in "The Gay Divorcee".

Yes, you can see it in the beginning of this scene:bbphonoguy wrote:I think the same white Credenza was used for the scene in Ginger Rogers' hotel room in "The Gay Divorcee".

Hi All,
You guys are really something! I had never noticed it before-but then I was not collecting antique phonographs!!! I wonder what happened to it or what it might be worth if it came with the right documents.
It just seemed really neat to me to see that unit in those pictures.

Re: White Credenza
I'd like to think it's still sitting in some long abandoned prop warehouse, wedged between to the scale miniature of the Empire State Building used in King Kong, and the Broadcast tower model used for the RKO logo. Maybe if I ever get another Credenza--one with a beaten up finish--I'll spray paint it white in honor of Fred and Ginger!need4art wrote:Hi All,

Looks like they raised the motor board in the second clip so it can be seen by the camera, but they left the arm lower.

Looks like the carvings above the doors are removed too.tonystardis wrote:Looks like they raised the motor board in the second clip so it can be seen by the camera, but they left the arm lower.
I would like to think this still exists somewhere, but I'd be pretty amazed if it survived the warehouse purgings that the studios went through in the 60's and 70's. Still, maybe some backlot worker saw it being sent off to the trash heap and rescued it, and it will show up on craigslist any day now!
