Is it just me or do the needlebar and needle holder look a little askew or crooked on this soundbox? Maybe it's just the angle of the photo or something.

I think it might be the photo. It looks pretty right to me.
It seems a lot of companies immitated Victors "Exhibition" soundbox to various extents, and named them accordingly.
The "Expression" I think is Paillards version, Lindstrom had the "Exposition", & Thorens had the "Exportation" & "Expedition".
To my ears, those I have heard sound every bit as good as Victors Exhibition.

No question,that reproducer is a Paillard product.Speaking of which.I just found another Paillard "Maestoso" with a very strange (yet original) needle bar.

Wow, I haven't come across that one before. It certainly is different. How does it sound?
Paillard seems to be king of unusual needle bar design. This is probably the strangest one in my collection. Why the big hook was included instead of keeping the needle bar straight I really dont know. I guess it was to look pretty rather than an attempt to improve reproduction.

Boy!,I could hook some great salmons with that one!!!!LOL!!!!!.I haven't tried it yet.I have seen this same one on a "hot-air" machine in Europe.So,I guess you know where this one is going.Here a couple pics of others.As you can see,with Pathé or lateral attachments.
